Antecedentes

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

Under the guidance and supervision of the National Security Officer the Gate Liaison is responsible for welcoming UN Women clients, partners and guest to the UN women Country Office and ensure a smooth entry.

 

Deberes y responsabilidades

Provide  main gate / or office  desk service and telephone communication services

  • Receive guests at  main gate or at UN women office desk;
  • Operate UNOCA main gate telephone switchboard in accordance with appropriate protocol;
  • Follow up  on maintaining clearance for all visitors, VIP vehicles, supplier trucks who supply equipment to UNW ACO inside UNOCA;
  • Provide escort services to UNW ACO visitors in absence of escort;
  • Receive guests at  main gate or at UN women office desk;
  • Operate UNOCA main gate telephone switchboard in accordance with appropriate protocol;
  • Assist visitors by providing directions and accurate information related to UN women offices;
  • Monitor the access control system for the ACO main building within UNOCA compound.
  • Register official incoming documents and submission to UNW main building; Inspect all incoming mail and packages and report immediately to the Country Office Security Section any suspicious package, bags or envelopes

Update UN staff and other contacts information:

  • Collect and update of UN staff information on a monthly basis, ensuring all data and information is correct and accurate.
  • Update the UN House telephone list and UN Directory, Addresses of the Government, International Organization, Embassies, and NGOs and other important contacts.

Perform any other related official duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time :

  • Staff and visitors have proper access to compound when needed
  • All incoming mail and packages are inspected according to rules and regulations

Phone calls are accurately directed to staff

Habilidades y experiencia requeridas

Education and certification:Primary education; secondary education desirable.

Experience:1-2 years of relevant work experience (preferably with the UN or any International Organizations) in working in security or at a reception

Language Requirements: Good knowledge of the national language in use at the duty station
