Antecedentes

In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, to accelerate the UN’s goals on gender equality and women’s empowerment. This was part of the UN reform agenda that brought together the resources and mandates of four organizations for greater impact. Grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the UN Charter, UN Women, among other issues, works for the:

• Elimination of discrimination against women and girls;

• Empowerment of women; and

• Achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

This mandate is to be achieved through support to formulation of policies, global standards and norms; and support to implementation of these standards at regional and national levels and coordination of UN System work on gender equality.

Deberes y responsabilidades

As UN Women continues to strengthen its processes, and ensure that we give the best possible services to vendors and Implementing Partners as customer satisfaction and loyalty have significant reciprocal effects on each other. For this reason, UN Women South Sudan Office in Juba, is seeking the services of a consultant to undertake a survey of all its vendors (Implementing Partners and suppliers)

The consultant will under the following:

Specific Tasks:

  1. Undertake a survey of all UN Women vendors (IPs, suppliers) to assess their satisfaction with the UNW services, including e-services provided to them;
  2. Develop a simple questionnaire to be given to all UN Women vendors for every service rendered to assess how UN Women have performed as an office in the following areas; 
  • Timeliness support on processes;
  • Friendliness of staff interacted with;
  • How easy UNW processes were to understand.

Deliverables:

  1. Initial inception report with proposed workplan;
  2. Proposed questionnaire and sampling plan;
  3. Determine the quality of service delivery as perceived by the vendors and IPs;
  4. Share and present summery of the findings with senior management;
  5. Submit an overall report of the Consultancy indicating methodology, clients/companies/institutions consulted, lessons learned from all vendors and possible recommendations.

Habilidades y experiencia requeridas

Key qualifications and skills required:

  • A degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Finance, Economics or related field;
  • Research background and experience of not less than 2 years;
  • Knowledge of UN systems;
  • Previous work experience in a similar position;
  • Good computer user skills and capability to produce documents with high quality; and
  • Read, write and speak proficient English. 

Duration of assignment:

The assignment is expected to commence from 23rd   to 10th Dec 2017.

 Remuneration:

Payment will be made in lump sum and in accordance with UNWOMEN rules and procedures, which will be outlined in the contract.

Additional Considerations:

The incumbent is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNW.
