Our initiatives on health and governance include the eVIN Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network, ANCHAL (Antenatal Neonatal & Child Health Systems and Logistics Tracking Tool), Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases, Strengthening Legal Frameworks and Mechanisms for Vulnerable People including PLHIV, LGBTQ and Transgender, Solar for Health, Integrating Climate Resilience in a Public Works Social Safety Net Programme, Service Delivery of Social Protection for Construction Workers, Harnessing the Potential of Perennial Springs to Address Water Scarcity in Tribal Areas, VALUE (Vaccine and Logistics Utilisation Evaluator), Business and Human Rights, Assessment of Alternate Vaccine Delivery and Anemia Mukt Bharat and many more projects.
UNDP intends to hire the services of a translator to translate publications, communication and training material including content for social media posts, posters, reports and documents, scripts, job-aids, training material etc in English- Hindi- English.
Deberes y responsabilidades
The translator will be required to undertake the following tasks:
- Translate the given publication drafts, reports, instructional and communication material into Hindi or from Hindi to English.
- Coordinate with project staff for vetting and approval of content, in coordination with Communications Manager.
- Submit the translated content in specified format along with font files within stipulated timelines.
Duty Station
- This is a home- based assignment.
Payment schedule
- On completion of each specified assignment and submission of translated deliverable after approval from UNDP team.
Competencias
- -Excellent demonstrated translation skills in English to Hindi and Hindi to English
- -Understanding of tone, nuances, and other necessary requisites for quality translation
- -Working skills of MS Office?

Timeline
Contract to be of one year. Translation deliverables to be submitted as per time schedules for each specific assignment.
Eligibility criteria
- Recognized graduate degree
- Proven experience of translating publications, communication and instructional material.
- Prior experience of working with government departments and UN agencies will be desirable.
- Prior experience of working on health, governance and technology related documents/ content will be desirable.
- Assurance of good quality and in-time delivery.
Evaluation Criteria
The award of the contract shall be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as responsive to the requirement. Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation.
•Technical Criteria weight - 70%;
•Financial Criteria weight – 30 %
Technical Criteria (70% of the total evaluation)
- Academic Qualification - 10%
- At least five years of experience of Eng- Hindi-Eng translation of publications, communication and instructional material - 20%
- Evaluation of sample translation submitted for quality assessment – 40%
Financial Criteria: (30% of the total evaluation) based on the per word rate for translation.
Financial Proposal:
Technically qualified consultants will be requested to submit their daily fee rate i.e. consultants who score more than 70% i.e. 49 marks with respect to the above-mentioned evaluation criteria.?Consultant should not specify their consultancy fee on their CV or with the submission. The CV will not be evaluated further in case the consultant submits the same.
