Antecedentes

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about many new challenges related to uncertainty, extra burdens, fear and anxiety of our loved ones and ourselves. All of which is taking a toll on UN Women colleagues. Health and well-being in the workplace are of utmost importance in order to create a positive and efficient working environment. In particular when many colleagues are working virtually, creating connection is also vital. In order to boost energy, morale, productivity and quality work, more workplace support has been requested by colleagues.

UN Women prioritises the health and wellbeing of personnel, especially during such unprecedented times. Additional support can help the office during challenging periods and learnings can also be continued in the long term and shared amongst all offices and colleagues. Creating a nurturing space for attention to health contributes to the values and culture of UN Women.

One of the key struggles during this time is that colleagues are working mostly from home, longer hours and with higher stress levels, in addition to other responsibilities now within their work environment. Colleagues have reported challenges with energy levels, lack of connection, stress, mental health, anxiety and general health and wellbeing. It is also important for them to pay attention to their immune systems during a global pandemic which is still ongoing.

We are looking to engage a quality nutritionist who will be able to work with the colleagues on a weekly basis and provide them with the tools to be able to help themselves and their families.

Deberes y responsabilidades

The nutritionist will support the ECA Regional Office with by creating a working-from-home health and nutrition programme designed to support energy levels, mental health and the immune system. The intention is to help the UN Women personnel to create more healthy lifestyle habits.

The nutritionist should cover a range of topics suited to the personnel needs. These sessions need to be conducted virtually in bitesize sessions and recorded, due to limited time availability of personnel. Summaries, relevant reading and watching lists and recipes will help personnel to continue their learnings throughout the timeline of the sessions.

Topics should cover in relation to working remotely from home:

  • Healthy eating habits
  • Planning and balancing lifestyle
  • Boosting energy
  • Improving sleep, rest and relaxation
  • Exercise and movement

Each session should also include achievable health tasks for all personnel to enjoy and to help keep each other accountable and progressing, whilst feeling supported. The objective is to keep personnel connected, energised and with more focus.
