Background

Under the direct supervision of the ICT officer, the ICT Assistant will provide ICT and administrative support services to the ICT unit, providing daily technical support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure. The ICT Assistant shall work in close collaboration with all UNDP business units and support staff in resolving complex ICT-related issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure day to day effective operations and technical performance of the Computing Infrastructure e.g., backup and recovery, hardware/software performance, antivirus/patch management, proactive troubleshooting and resolution of IT issues
  • Control and maintain ICT systems such as communication devices, telephony, servers and Internet links to minimize IT service downtime
  • Provision of Web management services focusing on provision of technical support during modification and maintenance of the country office website and Intranet
  • Provision of administrative support mainly during rollout of new ICT systems, procurement of new equipment for the country office and projects, provision of technical specifications and participation in evaluation/review of quotations and bids

  • Knowledgeable in network administration and use of hardware/software, telecommunications facilities, data base packages, experience in web design.

Required Skills and Experience

  • University degree in computer science, IT or related area.
  • Cisco certified network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified professional (MCP) required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience in network administration & system administration with good knowledge of PC/LAN operating systems, VSATs, IP PBX, corporate ICT security and viral protection systems, SharePoint, Web design & ERP support.
  • Ability to perform a variety of standard specialized and non-specialized tasks and work processes that are fully documented, researched, recorded and reported
