Background

The Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO) Egypt seeks to recruit one intern to support and assist the office in data and knowledge management and to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Action Campaign implementation, incl. International Youth Day in August, in Egypt.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Team of the UNRCO, the intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support the UNRCO Egypt’s activities related to data and information management;

  • Map and analyze data and information related to UN activities in Egypt ;

  • Support the multimedia engagement component of the Sustainable Development GoalsSDG Action Campaign events, incl. International Youth Day ;

  • Assist the UNRCO team in various coordination activities as required;

  • Perform other relevant duties as they arise.

Required Skills and Experience

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in computer science, data and information management;

  • Proficiency in data management systems and applications;

  • Demonstrated interest in the field of development and the work of international organizations;

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Eligibility:

Applicants to the UNRCO internship must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);

  • Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
