Background

The Island Life Magazine is an annual publication by UNDP Maldives which comprises of a collection of human-interest stories around UNDP’s initiatives, interviews with selected partners of UNDP, fast facts and project briefs amongst others. Human-interest stories will be the primary focus of the publication that will aim to bring in the viewpoints of communities and individuals on how such initiatives had made positive impacts on their lives.

This year, we are producing the 4th issue of the Island Life Magazine. The focus will be on Maldives’ unique ecosystems, such as reefs, which are interconnected with human well-being and socio-economic progress. It aims to capture the significance of these ecosystems for the country, and how UNDP and partners (civil society, individuals, development partners, government and the private sector etc.) are working together, to ensure its most sustainable use and preservation for present and future generations. The issue will also encourage stronger partnerships and wider support on this front.??? ?
