Background

UNDP and Airports Authority of India (AAI) have entered into a partnership which aims to address the development challenges like improving the health services, education, community disaster preparedness etc of the communities in the vicinity of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the office of the District Collector, Kamrup (Rural).

It is proposed to recruit an Individual Consultant to provide support in the implementation of the project in Guwahati. The Individual Consultant would work under the direct supervision of the Regional Head, NE India, UNDP. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serving as the main point of contact between the local communities and UNDP in Guwahati for the project and monitoring the overall project in the local community level
  • Liaising with local administration, NGOs, youth groups, SHGs to respond to project requirements;
  • Maintaining full knowledge of field related project issues;
  • Maintaining regular communication with Project Associate throughout the contract period;
  • Collating information regarding the beneficiaries in consultation with the Project Associate, Block Development Officers and Secretaries of the Gram Panchayats;
  • Drafting field notes, letters, responses, reports and other materials as required with respect to project implementation;
  • Assisting the local level administration and Project Associate in interfacing with other vendors and responsible parties in connection with the implementation of the project
  • Organizing field level meetings, workshops, awareness camps, public gatherings, etc. in the community level;
  • Drafting questionnaires, field notes, responses, reports and other materials as required with respect to project implementation;
  • Monitoring the functioning and maintenance of Mobile Medical Unit;
  • Monitoring the functioning and maintenance of computers provided in schools, availability of computer teachers on assigned time slots at assigned schools;
  • Monitoring the functioning and maintenance of UNDP Office Space;
  • Monitoring the functioning and maintenance of Community Learning Centre;
  • Perform other related activities as assigned by the Supervisors;

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

Graduation degree 

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of work experience in the community level or rural development work
  • Experience of working with local administration at the local community level and youth group is desirable

Payment:

Consolidated Annual Consultancy Fee (Remuneration) of Rs.3,60,000/- payable in equal monthly instalments, upon submission of monthly progress report certified by the reporting officer.
