Background

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Philippine Country Office is in search of qualified candidates for on-call Drivers to serve the transport needs of the staff of UNDP and other UN agencies. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Institutional Arrangement

  1. The On-call driver shall be under the daily supervision of the UNDP Administrative Assistant who also functions as the Transport Dispatcher and with the overall guidance and direction of the Operations Team Leader. 
  2. The remuneration will be based on hourly rate proposed by the driver.
  3. Each call for service has minimum 4 hours billable to UNDP and will be paid through submission of summary of hours rendered along with the trip tickets at the end of each month.  
  4. This post is not a regular, non-continuing post and no fixed monthly salary or overtime pay can be expected other than the actual hours rendered in the trip ticket.

Duration of the Work

The initial contract will be for one (1) year and can be extended for another year subject to satisfactory performance evaluation

Duty Station

The on-call driver is  expected to work in Manila for the duration of the contract.

Required Skills and Experience

Qualifications of the Successful Individual Contractor

Education:

  • At least secondary education / high school graduate 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years work experience as driver
  • Experience in troubleshooting minor vehicle repair
  • Experience working on the use of Windows-based systems (MS Office, etc.)

Language:

  • English and Filipino

Scope of Price Proposal and Schedule of Payments

The financial proposal to be submitted should be expressed in HOURLY RATE.  Payments will only be processed submission of summary of hours rendered along with the trip tickets at the end of each month. 

Criteria for Selection of the Best Offer

The offer will be evaluated based on Combined Scoring method – where the Technical Qualifications assessed through the CV, driving skills and interview will be weighted a max. of 70%, and combined with the price offer which will be weighted a max of 30%.

Applicants who will only receive 70 points  from the assessment of the CV will be called for the driving tests and interview.

Recommended Presentation of Offer

Offerors are requested to upload in one (1) file the following documents:

  1. Duly accomplished Letter of Confirmation of Interest and Availability using the template provided by UNDP;
  2. Personal CV or P11, indicating all past experience from similar projects, as well as the contact details (email and telephone number) of the Candidate and at least three (3) professional references;
  3. Financial Proposal that indicates the hourly rate fee of the Offeror. If an Offeror is employed by an organization/company/institution, and he/she expects his/her employer to charge a management fee in the process of releasing him/her to UNDP under Reimbursable Loan Agreement (RLA), the Offeror must indicate at this point, and ensure that all such costs are duly incorporated in the financial proposal submitted to UNDP.
