Background

Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will work for the Global Partnership Team under the supervision of the UNDP Senior Advisor for Development Financing and Investments, to support the coordination and activities of the Team. The incumbent is expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

  • To support the strengthening of strategic partnerships with national and international financial institutions
  • To support the organization of key main events such as the Global Governance Forum including the drafting of scoping papers for the discussion.
  • To support the preparation of the Team’s various activities and research on themes including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and “Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)”.
  • To translate relevant research documents and provide interpretation during meetings;
  • To assist administrative work of UNDP China including arranging meetings;
  • To assist the filing for UNDP China;
  • To perform other tasks as may be assigned by UNDP China.
  • To support the drafting of the UNDP-CDB Report and the Global Governance Report and the preparation for launching the reports.
  • To provide support to the SDGs and BRI related research;

Competencies

  • Self-motivated and responsible;
  • Good communication and sense of judgment;
  • Detail-oriented, preferably with previous administrative and office management experience;
  • Filing management skills;
  • Ability to work independently.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Economics, International Studies, Development Studies or related fields;
  • Experience in English-to-Chinese (and vice versa) translation is strongly desirable;
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin;
  • Good computer and IT skills and experiences in using office software package.
