Background

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the ICT Associate, the ICT/Admin Intern will work on execution of transparent and efficient admin and ICT services and processes according to UNDP rules and regulations.

The intern works in close collaboration with the UNDP Admin/ICT Associate to achieve delivered tasks and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

ICT tasks:

  • Assist for the support to staff and day-to-day tasks (ICT help desk)
  • Assist in setup, configuration and maintenance of laptops, printers, systems and applications (Office365);
  • Assist for troubleshooting WAN and ISP Connectivity (satellite, fiber optic link, FH etc.);
  • Troubleshooting of the IT equipment (laptops, printers, …)
  • Assist the ICT Associate for the setup of the design of the new version of SharePoint online UNDP Tunisia
  • Assist the staff to use the Visio conferences systems: Polycom Group 700 and Trio 8800

Administrative tasks:

  • Deployment of the new inventory application with barcodes of all the assets of UNDP
  • Update the database of the application of the assets
  • Work with the assets Focal point of UNDP to check the inventory of the assets
  • Work with the finance and procurement colleagues to check the payment of the invoices of the telecom providers mobile and internet (TOPNET, Ooredoo and Tunisie Telecom) and follow the reception of the new IT equipments.

  • Interested in working in an international organization;
  • Able to communicate effectively with the ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Good in organizing and structuring various tasks and responsibilities;
  • Fluent in written and spoken French.  Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage;
  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;
  • Responds positively to feedback and differing points of view;
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude;
  • Enjoys sharing knowledge and experience.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:

  • currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or
  • currently enrolled in a Master’s degree; or
  • have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a master’s degree or equivalent studies.

 

Field of study: information and communications technology, information systems, computer science, information systems, cybernetics or related field.

IT skills:

  • Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools.

Language skills:

  • The intern must have a good knowledge of French language and a good command of English language.
  • Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage

 

 

INTERNSHIP CONDITIONS:

  • UNDP internships are not remunerated. 
  • Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
  • Interns must provide proof of enrolment in health insurance plan;
