UN Women is the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. UN Women is dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide. All human development and human rights issues have gender dimensions. UN Women focuses on priority areas that are fundamental to women’s equality, and that can unlock progress across the board. Six focus areas that UN Women include violence against women, economic empowerment, leadership and participation, peace and security, national planning and budgeting and intergovernmental processes. The Partnerships, Resource Mobilisation, Monitoring and Evaluation is a cross cutting functions to lead and provide technical support to the programme in developing, implementing and monitoring programmes and processes across the portfolios and evaluating the programme results. It is also responsible for building partnerships across sectors and mobilizing resources for the organization. It works closely with the Business Sector Advisory Council, to develop and implement the strategy for private sector engagement. The purpose of this consultancy is to support the activities of the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization team including the partnership opportunities arising out of the UN Women’s Business Sector Advisory Council. The consultant will support in developing and assisting in the implementing engagement and fundraising strategies to enhance and grow revenue and annual campaign operations for private, public and civil society. They will be part of ensuring revenue goals are met for various fundraising areas. This will also include the development of proposals, briefs, and networking as well as provide administrative, logistical and content support in curation of high impact meetings with partners and potential donors, including the Business Sector Advisory Council. The consultant will work under the overall supervision of the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Specialist and in close coordination with the Country Programme Manager, SCE, UN Women India Office. The consultant will be based in Mumbai and will work in close coordination with Partnerships Coordinator of the Business Sector Advisory Council in delivering agreed tasks.
